The initial stage of the global emergency innovation challenge, the First 72 Hours (www.first72hours.org) has now closed, with innovative and exciting ideas submitted by old and young alike, from all corners of the globe. Focusing around the four categories of water and food, health, information-communication, and energy, participants submitted a wide range of projects, from drones to apps, preparedness to recovery, showing some real thought and inspiration to addressing new emergencies in the future.

Out of the 281 submissions, the panel of contest judges have the very difficult task of selecting a mere 30 projects for the next stage of the project, co-creation. You can help the judges by voting your favorite idea here. Check www.first72hours.org on Monday, March 24th to see who made it to the next round!
